Key West is a Tropical Oasis at the end of a chain of Islands known as "The Florida Keys". Our small island is rich with culture, art, writers, sailors, bootleggers, smugglers and Pirates, friends and fun. The City was incorporated in 1828, four years after becoming the county seat of Monroe County. The City’s economy is dependent upon mainly Tourism. Other industries include Real Estate sales and Improvements, Local Artists, Many Local Authors including Ernest Hemingway. As Key West is a highly popular tourist destination is also a desirable residential location. Our Island is home to some of the world's finest restaurants, shops, nightlife, fishing, sailing, diving and watersports. Many people have come for a vacation and never went home. That is exactly what I did in 1992. This weblog is designed to describe "A Day in Key West" through daily photos and the eyes of a Key West local.
