How far is it to Key West?

Key West is a Tropical Oasis at the end of a chain of Islands known as "The Florida Keys". Our small island is rich with culture, art, writers, sailors, bootleggers, smugglers and Pirates, friends and fun. The City was incorporated in 1828, four years after becoming the county seat of Monroe County. The City’s economy is dependent upon mainly Tourism. Other industries include Real Estate sales and Improvements, Local Artists, Many Local Authors including Ernest Hemingway. As Key West is a highly popular tourist destination is also a desirable residential location. Our Island is home to some of the world's finest restaurants, shops, nightlife, fishing, sailing, diving and watersports. Many people have come for a vacation and never went home. That is exactly what I did in 1992. This weblog is designed to describe "A Day in Key West" through daily photos and the eyes of a Key West local.

How far is it to Key West?

Key West is like going to the Caribbean but you can drive. No matter where you're coming from you can always drive. I used to drive straight through from Boston with a friend and it would take us about 28 hours. We'd use the tank of gas rule. One would drive and when it was time to refill the gas tank we'd switch drivers. If we left Boston about 7:30-8:00 PM we would be through New York and New Jersey before the morning rush hour then it was I95 all the way to Fort Lauderdale. Drive on down and I'll show you some Key West homes for sale or Lower Keys homes for sale.
