Today started off with paperwork, doing work research for a client and a quiet morning working from my home office. It was a little cool outside so I didn't work from the pool. Spent a little while on the phone with my 83 year old Father who doesn't understand "Dad, I'm working" means I can't just chit chat.
Went for a quick lunch at Sister Noodle which is always great. Very authentic Vietnamese Food, family run and costs abut the same as Wendy's. I can't pronounce anything on the menu but between the pictures and Kym, the owner, I manage to order something good every time. After lunch I did a few work errands around town. One of which unfortunately had me in K-Mart. Anyone who has experienced the Key West K-Mart knows a trip there could give a bottle of Valium high blood pressure. I think I'd rather have a root canal done with no Novocaine while having a Colonoscopy at the same time than shop there.
I survived my errands, even K-Mart, and had a meeting with some clients. It was a "Key West Style" meeting though. We sat on the dock at Alonzo's and talked business. Life on the Island clearly doesn't suck. I finished up my meeting and called my friend Roy who is also my favorite Server in Key West and made dinner reservations at Tavern-N-Town which I think is the very best Fine Dining we have in The Florida Keys.
Dinner at Tavern was awesome as always and it was great to spend a night with Roy. I don't know what their secret ingredient is but their French Onion Soup is to die for. I had a Filet Mignon which was perfect paired with Parmesan Risotto which couldn't have been better. Dessert was a "Havana Banana Split" which is hot bananas infused with a rum sauce covered in chocolate and strawberry sauces served with macadamia nut ice cream. The night was complete with local musician Mike Emerson keeping the crowd entertained with his outstanding guitar skills and great voice. I think I gained 25 pounds but it was delicious and I had a good time. I was saddened to learn that my friend Judy who was one or the restaurant managers passed away. Rest well in Heaven Judy. You will be missed. I came home early and am heading to bed.
There you have it folks. I hope I didn't bore you with my humdrum life but that was a Day in Key West. I'm heading to Miami tomorrow which always reminds me why I love living in Key West. Until Tomorrow,
Gary
