Key West in February

There are probably a million reasons I live living in Key West but I would say the weather is at the top of that list. It is February 7th, it's 68° outside and the locals are saying how cold it is. I wonder what the temperature is in Detroit today? We have never once in history had snow in the Florida Keys and the ice is in our drinks not on our roads. Santa Claus is unwinding after his long night

Big Betsy The Lobster

Big Betsy the Lobster Islamorada

Big Betsy is somewhat the Upper Keys version of the Southernmost Point Buoy in Key West. I see more tourists stopping to take their picture with her as the Mile 0 sign or the Southernmost Point. She has been there as long as I can remember and I have lived in the Florida Keys for 33 years as well as vacationed here since I was a teenager. If you're driving through the Florida Keys, stop and take your picture with Big Betsey the Lobster.

This is how we spend Friday Afternoon in the Florida Keys.

The tourists flock to the bars, the locals flock to their boats. It's hard to believe these calm waters had Powerboat Races throwing wakes for miles just a few hours ago. Florida Keys life is a good life. Call me to help you achieve the good life.

Key West is well known for our beautiful sunsets. We do get some great ones. We also have beautiful sunrises. I walk across the street to Coconut Mallory Marina a lot of mornings and watch the sun come up as I enjoy a cup of tea.

American Shoal, Lower Florida Keys

American Shoal

American Shoal, and especially the light house, have been a favorite fishing and diving spot in the Florida Keys for decades. The nice thing is very few of the charter boats go out there. We kind of keep it a "Local's Secret". Most tourists can't find it and it isn't big enough for most of the charter boats. You'll catch Grouper and Snapper out there all day long. The Mahi-Mahi (Dolphin) will run out there during season and you can always catch sharks out there. Take a boat ride out to American Shoal while you're in town looking at Florida Keys homes for sale with me.

Mac's Sea Garden, Key West

Mac's Sea Garden has been a Key West Icon for over 40 years. They mostly sell silly "Tourist Trinkets" but they have some neat Key West stuff if you take the time to look around. You can get a Conch Republic Flag, tee shirt or hat. That will be something to remember your trip to Key West from. Better yet, call me to buy a home in the Florida Keys and you'll really never forget Key West.
